I haven't heard the name "Joey Taffola" is a loonnngg time.  Wasn't he part of Mike Varney's Shrapnel stable? I always thought he was a neo-classical guy, but this sounds like some of the stuff Ritchie Kotzen, Blues Saraceno, and Jason Becker were doing. The slipping and sliding of the main riff reminds me of Michael Lee Firkins as well. Great!

This is my favorite post of yours. Impeccable.  Lovely those loosey goosey slides! Great production and the playing is friggin' out of this world. 3:00 on just kills me.  Don't even want to pick up the guitar today.

I loaded your file into Audacity along with the original by Joey Tafolla and they are exactly the same. There can be no doubt that they are the same recording.
