I just got news that I failed yet another interview and wasn't chosen for a job I really had my hopes in. This song is a bit more than a year old, written after another rejection of this type and is specifically about the whole interview process and my emotions as I'm caught up in those moments, knowing I'm being judged and having so little control when all is said and done.

I showed up, sweetly.
So clean and decently draped,
A smile and lifted gaze,
With all things acceptable and
Perfectly placed.

Yet, once the uniform questions began to be spoken
I was punctured by the edge.

Beautiful song with some very poignant lyrics delivered in your inimitable style, and that wonderful sparse piano arrangement provides the perfect and slightly downbeat backdrop.
