It's the fault of this forum - I have a head full of blues now  :D :D :D

Here's one I wrote and performed myself this time. A bit of acoustic, delta blues. It's more about the feeling than the guitar prowess (or so I tell myself...  :D).

I've done something different on the production for this. I didn't want a clean digital sound, so I've added some needle hiss in Audacity, and used a '1938 RCA Victor' EQ setting to muddy and lo-fi the sound. It'll never sound totally authentic, but it's just a bit of fun.

My goodness, the surprises just keep on comming on this site.  Tim, this is totally super.  Guitar prowess indeed, this is very good.  Your vocals and lyrics are perfect.  Good god almighty I love this.  You play this at an open mike and the audience will be eating out of your hand.  Great ending with the harmonies.  I am totally stunned at how great this sounds.  You are a blues man deep down in your soles.
Funny, yesterday I was playing my acoustic and I was playing around in this style, I was thinking that this is one guitar style that I have not figured out yet, but I really love the sound of it, and here you come along with a song in this style and nail it.  Good one.

Many, many times...  :D

I'm writing a novel (almost done) that takes in the history of resonator guitars. I've promised myself a shiny new resonator with the advance money. But I may have to wait a long time for that! Or just give up on publishing fame and buy one anyway  :D

I do love the sound of them.

I'm not sure I'm good enough to add blues guitar to anyone else's tracks. This is all self-taught, and I don't really know what I'm playing! It's just a standard blues chord pattern with lots of 'pinky' augmentations and little slide fills. I'm not sure it's 'proper' blues - just my untrained take on it.

Man this is great!!! Love the production... gave it a nice bluesy quality. And your voice is really great..... modesty expressed in "shiny and new" not necessary!!!!'

If your music's this good~I'm 1000% sure your book will be golden~I'd sure like to read it!!

As someone once said, don't misunderestimate yourself! You may not have been trained in the blues but it sure sounds like you feel it deep down. This just sounded great to me and I loved what you did with the production. Bit of fun yes, but another great one from the Greeny creative maelstrom. Still don't know how you do it, but please keep doing it.

Just realised that could be interpreted wrongly  :-[ but I think you know what I mean.

Cheers,

Nigel
