Simple? Not at all, you've hit the instrumental sweet spot here! I love the blending of all the instruments with this excellent melody and with a hint of prog. rock to boot. When you mentioned the new mandolin I thought a guy with your guitar and key skill's will master it quickly and I was right. Mando on Paul!

Loving that mandolin. Bought myself a Stagg mandolin about a year ago. It's awful. Unplayable. Wish I never gave my old one away.

Thanks for your kind words everybody.  I am rather pleased with this tune.  It has to be one of the more catchy pieces that I have ever produced.

The mandolin has been something that I have been thinking about for years.  I finally got around to plucking up the courage to go into a "folk" type music shop a while ago and getting an A style mandolin.  I actually found it a bit intimidating.  I can pick up a guitar or turn up a keyboard in a music shop without embarrassing myself too much.  As long as I don't go on too long, I can even almost impress some of the young dudes in a "he's not that bad for an old bastard" kind of way.   But I'd never touched a mandolin before let alone tried to play one.   So I sorted out a couple of chords on Youtube and ventured in....

The one I bought was a second hand Ashbury - made in that bastion of traditional music, the People's Republic of China!.  The intonation seemed fine and the action is incredibly low with the only buzzes caused by my clumsy great fingers on the ridiculously tiny fingerboard.  But I love it.

Anyway, I'm glad you liked my little tune and thanks once again.

Oh, this is lovely.  I can tell you've already got more mileage out of your mandolin than I ever did.  You've got a nice mixture of tones in here. Loving the bass as well.
