Redler posted this https://songcrafters.org/community/index.php?topic=21333.0 a while back & I just loved it! In fact I have neglected to listen to ORH's take of the same tune so I wouldn't be influenced. I did this yesterday Kari, on you birthday, hope it was a great day & I hope you like this.
Subtlety
music by Redler  lyrics by Hook
Why must we change
And why must we grow
I'm not the same
But not all my changes show

Subtlety has never been my strength
But it's the subtle things that move me
Held to ideology at least I'd like to think
Perhaps I'll make a difference subtly

I miss the way
you used to be impressed
Used to be my quirks
What you like about me best

Chorus

We are so fragile
We are so shattered

Why must we feel
Anything at all

Chorus

Because the Hook brings you back
I ain't tellin' you no lie
The hook brings you back
On that you can rely

I'm on the fourth listening and I like your interpretaion a lot!! The rhythm of the vocal and vocal melody is so different - it can be done at least hundreds of ways :) . Really fantastic job on lyric as well! Wow!!

And I love the hookastic way you sang this! Really fantastic birthday present! Thanks!

I really like the both versions (yours and orh's). Long live collabs :) :) :) . That's the big factor why I love this site!

This is such a beautiful piece of music, it would stand up in its own right and the vocal additions take it to an even higher level. I have become a big fan of Cello's in songs in the past few years, and yet another fine example of some well placed additions here adding a wonderful somber tone.

The echo/reverb on your voice Hook sounds great, it gives it a bigger impact and sits in the mix perfectly.

Well done guys, this is a hit!

A beautiful instrumental to start with, and the heartfelt vocal sits alongside it just right. A lovely, thought-provoking track and another smashing Songcrafters collaboration.

This is soooo interesting! To see how different versions two musicians can do about one tune. Both are so good!

Nicely subdued and ultra ambient
