OK, I promise this is the last one for a while .... I just got so inspired from all the good feedback and how everyone here contributes so much, in so many ways. So this morning I made a little ditty which I first intended to make into a song, but sometimes the words don't come so I just put down some harmonized guitarlicks ... It's not nearly finished, but it was great fun so i thought .. why not share it and get some input, then maybe i could develop it a bit further next weekend... we'll see

I don't think you'll hear any complaints about posting too much, especially when it's this good. Very chirpy, happy feel to this song,i like.  ;D

Wacky and fun. Had me smiling here  ;D It's got a kind of punky edge to it in the tempo and rhythm playing. Keep having fun with it and see where it goes! Nice guitar sounds and tightly played as always.

This is very good!
I am interested in how you developed this...
Did you first say to yourself, 'hey, I want to do a song called happy guitars', and then play some happy guitar music?
Or, did you just jam out some cool licks, and then later thought,
'Hey, I'm gonna call this Happy Guitars'?
I am just interested to know, because I am always trying to write music, but in my life I've only written a couple!
And I wonder if my approach is wrong...
Well, anyhow this is a great little piece of work, and I'm anxious to hear the completed project!

This is a great tune, I can totally hear Kim Deal or the Breeders doing this.
To be pleased with one's limits is a wretched state.

This is great fun! Sounds a bit celtic to me... somewhere between 'Whiskey in the Jar' and Steely Dan's 'Reelin' in the Years'. I don't know how you are doing those harmonics, but they sound mighty fine.  :)

Glad to be able to spread some joy (I had fun playing it too)   :D ... and thank you for the kind words, now that I've had the chance to listen to some more of what you all have posted here that really means a lot !!

QuoteI am interested in how you developed this...
hmmm well I was just in a good mood after listening to some of you guys and picked up my guitar ... the main G-major riff sort of just was there when I started playing and then after adjusting it a bit and finding the right tempo i just stumbled om playing the E-B-F# part .... now  "let there be drums" ! And there was drums ... took some time to find the right pattern and speed it up .... just stuck to the V1 and fooled around a bit until I had the structure of the song (adding the D-C/d-G/d bridge twice).  then I put on an extra rhythm guitar and started jamming along on repeat for 10 minutes or so and pushed record. Harmony guitar was done in one take as you probably can hear, so i put it a bit lower in the mix and added some reverb. Added the bass, did the final drum programming and made a mix with rhythm guitars panned +/-20 lead and harmony +/-5 bass center.  Felt really happy with the result as a rough take of something to develop further so : "Happy Guitars" . My instrumentals usually get names after I hear what they sound like.

I see what you mean, may be the Lizzy spirit haunting me  :)
I also get the "punk" reference...

so it's a wacky celtic fun-punk fram a Norwegian engineer  ::)
I can live with that :)
