Trying to figure out which of these recorders is the right one for Pan. It's between the Tascam Pocket Studio 5 & the Tascam 004 (she want's the battery option so the korg is out). This was done today on the Tascam Pocket Studio 5.

Very intuitive machine, nice mic (well placed), I used the moody effect for the live uke vocal. The guitar effects are a little noisy but useable & this is the fretless bass patch. I filled the 4 tracks (stereo live uke/vocal, bass, lead uke) then mixed it to an MP3, recorded the mp3 on to 2 tracks of a new song & added drums (mono  :() mixed again to mp3. It was quite easy to get off the 5 through the usb but I don't see how to get the individual tracks off. I do like it, it's very much like the mbr, I really think they had some of the same software/firmware (whatever it is) designers. Card size (128mb max) is still a bother & I still have to check out the battery life but it is a very cool machine!

Excellent cover Hook, really like the sound of the lead uke and great vocal too.  Looks like this Fest is between us two - I'll be looking for another one to cover now as its 2-2 at the moment. Uke on !

Cool track, nicely recorded - not sure I'd have the patience for all that bouncing tracks, but the machine sounds sweet. Using the Uke on covers always gives them a different edge, making them sound new and refreshed.

Excellent version Hook, you really have the knack of re-inventing cover songs and giving them a fresh new sound when you get your hands on that Uke, and you just know that it will be an intriguing and interesting listen each time.

The vocal is again a stand out feature, and the production sounds very good especially considering you are jumping from machine to machine at the minute!

sweet mother this sounds damn fine.  Swinging version, great vocals, and the recording sounds so clear and present.

I was just commenting on Geir's Do You Believe in Magic and I was about to say there were no doublers yet, which was surprising since there's not that many songs to choose from.  In checking my facts though I saw you've done a version of Rescue Me, which is the very song I'm hoping to put my wobbly vocal to tonight.

Ah well

Still, notwithstanding all that, great to hear your version of this fine song.  Lovely singing, as always.

My version is going to be more an in-the-style-of version, in the style of Soft Cell in this case, since I was a champion of the 80s-fest-2.
