I wanted to just do a fun 3 minute pop song. Strat and acoustic guitar, bass, drum loop and organ.
No hidden meaning, no insightful lyrics, no sus, aug or dim chords, no bridge, no solo,
no social value, I like it.   :D

Dance the Night Away
by David Bride

The week comes down to Friday night,
Work is over everything's just right,
I can't wait to see my girl,
She means everything in this world,
We're gonna go out dancing tonight,
Move across that floor and glide,
Come on baby let's dance the night away,

(Chorus)
Swinging left, swinging right,
She makes me feel alright,
Dancing fast, dancing slow,
I want to hold her close,
Kick up your heels girl, let's not delay,
Come on baby let's dance the night away,

We'd be out there on that floor,
Gave it all we had and more,
When we dance I have no cares,
We made one hell of a pair,
After a time we just broke up,
Somehow we just lost touch,
I miss how we'd dance the night away,

(Chorus)
Swinging left, swinging right,
She makes me feel alright,
Dancing fast, dancing slow,
I want to hold her close,
Kick up your heels girl, let's not delay,
Come on baby let's dance the night away,

I'm older now and all alone,
Living out at the old folks home,
One night a band came in,
Made me think what might have been,
I looked across that dance floor,
Saw you just like you were before,
Come on baby let's dance the night away,
(Chorus)
Swinging left, swinging right,
She makes me feel alright,
Dancing fast, dancing slow,
I want to hold her close,
Kick up your heels girl, let's not delay,
Come on baby let's dance the night away,

The organ's the start for me - what is it?

Nicely executed.  Often simplicity is the hardest thing to pull off, I think you've managed it with aplomb.
Overdrive - Distortion - Hyperactivity
Yesterdays shatter, tomorrows don't matter

Thanks for the comments and Nick I used  Native Instruments B4 a software plug-in that
emulates the hammond b3 and leslie speakers.

Tangled Wires

Liking this, it's straight forward and direct with some great vocal hook's and a real bouncy swagger

The hammond sounded very authentic, and sits very nicely alongside that punchy rhythm guitar...it is a very integral part of the song.

That impressive energetic vocal flows effortlessly along, and everything sits just at the right level in the mix.

Very addictive song this!
