Found a fellow that did DIY his own lyric prompter but used a real PC running Win XP in it.

Would be a lot less heat (and blue screen) issues with a raspberry pi as the brains.

You could make one for a lot less. It's basically just a computer running an image viewer program. So get a 23" LED monitor for [/quote]

I now use an app called stage traxx live on my iPad.
You just down load the lyrics and put them in with chords etc and set the scroll speed.
My iPad sits on a music stand,it's very good  ;D

I've always felt that a song worth playing is also worth memorizing the lyrics. The only prompt
I use on stage is a set list and that varies, depending on the audience the band is performing for.

That only works if you have a good memory unit.
Mine is getting very bad anymore the more I age.

Even on things that are often repeated I get missing block and parity errors.

Peter, your memory errors are caused by a misrealignment of  your hyperclottamus lobe in the limbic lizard portion of your brain. Nothing that cannot be fixed by a brain transplant.

Without the transplant, death could result if you should eat boiled octopus eyelids.

I could use one of those myself! I used to forget the lyric all the time to one or more of the many songs on our set list. Especially if it was one that we didn't practice all that much.....but just because I forgot the lyric didn't mean that I was at a loss for words, lol! It just meant that it was a bit confusing for the folks that were singing along.  ;D

Farrell, one of the (cruel) tricks I would occasionally play on a band member was to tell the victim of the joke what the next tune was, while informing everyone else that we were going to play a different tune. The drummer would count it off and all but one person would start off on the correct tune. This was especially bad when the lead vocalist was the butt of the joke. It got worse when we'd start a different tune at the beginning of each verse.

A few death threats were bandied about. Didn't stop the rest of us from laughing our asses off.

Dang, fortunately I like my seafood raw!

Wonder if health insurance covers a brain transplant!
Wife keeps hinting I need a new or upgraded one..
