"Picnic Island" a Hook original for RemoteFest

2nd of 2 RemoteFest entries today. "I Don't Have A Boat" was done rather hastily but I took a little more time with this one. My afternoon gig was also in very south Tampa and there is a neat Park/beach at the southern tip of Tampa called Picnic Island Park. You drive through these shipyards and real industrial area and end up at this really beautiful park with great boat access (does me no good!) Regardless I took about 30 minutes to write this one and about 30 minutes to set up my gear & record. It got very windy and I had to use the case I carry my GuerillaHook Studios in as a wind screen/booth.

I heard on the news a few days ago
The waters off picnic Island
 weren't safe to swim
Over  there is a guy wading in
Fishing

And I don't say a word
 because what if what I heard wasn't what I really heard
But it really started bothering me
So when he waded back in
I confronted him

I said have you heard that the waters weren't safe
He said he heard it & thAt it has cleared & now it was safe.

Just now some kind of class of kids
All dressed in red shirts ppassed by on the beach
Looking for something of distinction
Not concerned in the least
The water at their feet
a few days ago was out of reach

I Did not confront them
It would have been strange
For a guy on the beach
To start to ramble about what he was unsure of in the first place

I imagine these things float along with the tide
I never heard red so will assume it's alright
Here come some kayakers
no one's concerned
I'll still pass on my turn

I am missing that Florida sunshine, those pictures remind me :-) Still, we are in the midst of a heat wave in the UK, heat warnings and all, its going to reach 90 degrees!!!
