Hi, Can't believe its a whole 9 months since I posted a song.  Been on a bit of a downer for the last few months and not had much time to do any recording or when I have had the time, not had the inclination. Been lurking though and checking out Songcrafters everyday and adding a few comments.

Although it didn't get my vote, I noticed this song on John Lennon's jukebox and was inspired to have an attempt.  Its a song I played many times in my one year career as a semi-pro musician when I was asked to leave my 'hobby' band and join a new soul band in 2001 although I had never played or enjoyed that type of music.  We had a busy year with our agent booking plenty of paid gigs.  Our singer, Carrie, who was only 20/21 when we were playing passed away last November at the young age of 32 after battling cancer.

So I've recorded this as a tribute to Carrie (who sang it much better) - Carrie, Thanks for the happy memories of the gigs we played, the laughs we had and your attempts to teach me to sing ! You'll always be a star to me xx.

Great cover, Pete. I enjoyed listening.

A common problem with Apple devices (iPad, iPhone, iPod). It plays just fine for me using Firefox in Linux. I tried a couple of other browsers and they worked too. So I'm sure it's just an Apple thing.

A good cover Pete C and you sing it quite well. It's a sad story about your former singer passing away at such a young age. This song was on the set list of the first real band I played in....we also had an organ player. Your version brought back some fond memories for me...thanks for that!
