REMIX............................REMASTER.........................................2/14/2017..............................
I did a remix/remaster on this one because it always bothered me that the vocals were completely dry and sounded terrible.  The reverb in Audacity sounds awful, or at least I can't find a setting with the 10 or so variables they have that might make it sound OK.  When you move a track from BR to Audacity you lose any effects you have applied.  Unless, it turns out, you master that track and move that to Audacity.  Then you will still have any effects you have applied.  Any way, I think the vox sounds much better now.

I also tried a different approach to panning: the mando and guitar are to the left, the vocals to the right, and the
cajun (percussion) is centered.  I think it sounds interesting, but for some reason, when there are no vocals, the strings move more to the middle and sound louder.  As soon as the vox starts, the strings move and their volume decreases.  Weird!

I don't expect anyone will ever hear these changes, but I'll sleep better.

I recently acquired a brand new 73 year old Kalamazoo Mandolin, so here I am playing with it.

Kalamazoo Mando sounds awesome and you playing it sounds awesome!

A very brave song to take on. Great take Rolow!!

The woman which i forget her name who sung the backer vocals was quite a crazy lady from the story i read about her life and death.

I love this tune!

I don't often swear, certainly not in posts here, but I'm struggling not to with this one.

F#ck, this is good! That mandolin sounds awesome.  The whole song is beautifully performed and the recording finely judged and well executed.  What a great start to a day in the office.

Must admit when I first read it, I thought it said you'd done in on kazoo. This'll be interesting, I thought.

Bravo.  Great post.

One of my favorites from Zeppelin. Sounds like you've listened to a bootleg or two as you cover Sandy Denny's parts as John Paul Jones used to do. Production sounds great, but I believe the vocals could be louder.

Nice.

Thanks for that, Bloop.  I still don't like the sound of my own voice so I chickened out.

Thanks groundy, Nick, Gnasty, and thetworegs too!

That's right out of my playbook.

Your voice is fine.  You just need to inhabit it.

Well done on sneaking this one in as the shutters were coming down on the Zepfest too

Love the sound of your "new" Kalamazoo mandolin! I've got a thing for these older instruments myself. :)

Fantastic musicianship on display - nice panning and levels on guitar & mandolin - and the cajon sounds like a full kit!  I've always liked your vocals, and no exception here. Very well produced.

A brilliant cover, and not an easy one to pull off. Well done. Rolow!
