The Ballad of Mack the Knife

Little bit of a story behind this. Someone had posted on You Tube a while back the original German "Die Moritat von Mackie Messer" which translates literally as "The Ballad of Mack the Knife". In looking into it, I found that the well known English version as recorded by Bobby Darin, Louis Armstrong etc., etc. strayed somewhat from the original German. I investigated further and found another more recent translation which was closer to the original but the English was very stilted and also left out some verses so I decided to have a go at producing my own version. With the help of a literal translation (courtesy of Google Translate) and the existing English Versions I came up with this.
