Greetings from Philly Area & Multi-Musician Noob

Hi All,

I am williram (which is a nick/solo artist name, short for William Ramsey).

well greetings from the Philadelphia area of Pennsylvania in the US.

I've mostly self-taught myself music through whatever I think sounds good to my ears since 1999/2000 when I was a 18 yr old in high school and had to quit sports due to health reasons beyond my control. I've gone down some rebel paths and did enough of the math to know as I stated, do what sounds good to you first.

I like to learn more about song structure from joining this forum & gain some friends, extra set of ears, possible collaborators and conspirators if you may.

What I haven't self taught myself is html, code, etc but I'm going to attempt to post a track from SoundCloud under my acoustic duo act, The Solutionists.

https://soundcloud.com/ja-uu/redwolf

in The Solutionists thing I mostly write the material & the lyrics and my friend and guitar player, Eric takes over altering the music I write while I sing. We perform a lot of open mics, house parties and such.

When I'm not doing the acoustic duo act I'm constantly writing, recording and sometimes performing my own songs under the name Will I Ram. So I attempt all instruments unless I'm throwing a prefabbed loop or so I've gotten my hands on.

Cheers everyone

from a very creative person, even creative when it's not all about music i'm doing art, etc

nice to  meet you

Hook

Welcome from Tampa! Interesting tune, I did the dark, macabre feel. When the drums kicked in and the wailing started I got a Jim Morrison/Doors feel. What do you record with?

wow  ;D

thanks for all the replies!

I will get around shortly to posting more originals plus some artwork.

in response to Hook's question : I record with either a multitracker, Zoom MRS1608 or my m-audio usb interface. Recently got a zoom q2hd in which I use to record video or one off audio tracks but it also gives me the option to use as a usb side mic to record tracks on my laptop as well. Some programs I use are FL Studio, Audacity & Melodyne.

For The Solutionists project, Eric plugs his 6 string into a some effects pedals, freeze pedal and some other ones and straight into an interface where he uses Sonar to record and arrange the tracks.

My artwork is weird stuff usually or designs (which can be weird or odd too). I'll get around to posting all that shortly. I think I have a photobucket account.

Thanks again for the warm welcome.
