Cover of the LZ song from III.

Another chance to release my inner Jimmy.  Back when I was a teenager in the early 80's I remember learning thie solo note by note, one of the few I did that with.  I still had to learn it again though, and I play it diffrent now than then.

With this I've now covered all the songs on Side 1 of III; I've currently no plans to go into side 2.

Oh, this was killer. The mix threw me at first (as the guitars aren't so up front), but I wouldn't change a thing. Lovely solo, and the drums are fantastic as well. Good post to start my day.

Thats the deal man, what a way to take a long heard song and make it your own......and talk about your inner Jimmy...well how about your inner Robert, outstanding vocals here.  I can't say enough about how much i love this.

Oh yeah!!

Very interesting (almost techno-ish) beginning, and then it slips into the more recognizable Zeppelin hard rock sound. Love those contrasts, and I'm blown away by how fantastic the guitar on this…as I said previously, you really learned well from this album.

Also count me in with Bluesberry about your vocals. I learned from covering 'That's The Way' that Robert Plant has some very intricate phrasing in regards to the music, and you captured those intricacies well. In fact, there were entire lines that I never quite caught in the original that are now clear as a bell here.

A real stunner, and a another great rocker!

Me too actually and when I went and pulled the lyrics off of the information superhighway they still didn't make sense in what they actually mean.  I was imagining that maybe they were describing a holocaust victim or some other sinister thing.  Yesterday when I posted the song I looked on Wikipedia and it said it was Plant's observations of New York.  Apparantly they would introduce the song live as the New York song.  Which didn't help all that much for understanding the meaning, I must admit.

What it also said was that it originally had a drum intro which got accidentally erased when recording and they couldn't be bothered to do it again, so they ran the drone from the end of Friends in.  Sounds a lot like my experiences recording.
