messing about with double headed drum (i think it might be a bata) electro acoustic guitar and bass guitar and whining into ma wee silver box.....again.

the drum

i opened my eyes
from a long deep sleep
still in the dream state
reality still out of reach
head still deep
deep down in the sand
if i can't see you
you can't see me
an easy mistake to make

no more sleepwalking
the time has come
to face the truth
to waken up
reality
now must be met
with imagination
and
open eyes

lost in the slumber
of a drunken slur
perhaps imagined
perhaps just a rumour
imagined shadows
where there is no light
it's time to wake up
time to wake up

Got it through the wee file at the bottom.
Nice one jim , I like the atmosphere that the bass and drums are creating and the way at 58 seconds into it the string hits a note that the echo catches.

Like a lot your lyrics!

Strange atmosphere, the drums and the reverb' guitar are efficient to create it

The relaxed vocal delivery and the space on the guitar track really gives this the laid back feel the lyric is implying. My only annoyance is that the vocal is a bit low in the mix. But I'll admit that makes for a more relaxed feel which seems to work perfectly here. I just want to hear the lyric better.

Dreamy stuff - as you know, I dig these big productions you've been doing lately, and this is no exception. Amazing how your electro-acoustic sounds all-electric…nice one. Is that like a double-headed bongo you've got there? There must be one, but I don't see the opening for where the sound would come out?
