I wanted to use some female backing vocals on the chorus but just copied my own and reverbed it out. Guess I won't get around to doing that, either. This is my kind of song, though. Kind of a twisted look of a happy tune and downer lyrics. Not sure how well it works.

We met at the grocery store
I asked if I could see you some more
We had the best of times
I thought you would always be mine
But then you cheated on me
Yeah, you cheated on me
You cheated on me and now I hate you

The first time you said was the last
You wouldn't break my heart of glass
You said our love was meant to be
You made a promise, a guarantee
And then you cheated on me
Yeah, you cheated on me
You cheated on me and now I hate you

You called me up, told me a lie
Said you had an alibi
You say you want to be friends
But I know what you intend
Because you cheated on me
Yeah, you cheated on me
You cheated on me and now I hate you

I'd say it works pretty damn well!! Love the way it each subsequent 'cheated on me' steps down in pitch, the lead guitar and the almost fun like vibe...outta yer box, TC!!

It works for me.
Straight talking, with a nice groove and excellent performance.

Especially enjoy the contrast between lyrics and music.

I too think it works quite well. I see what you mean about the female backing vocals.

Oh it's a great song TC, just my cup of tea. I'm happy to do female backing vocals if anyone ever wants some, although this works well as it is.

Nice foot tapping rocker, great post TC, no need for a female voice here, you did the job perfectly. This is a definitely a keeper, well done

This is cool. The lead guitar tone made me think of late 60's Buffalo Springfield, but the rest is all contemporary TC. The contrast between the theme and the bouncy, jaunty feel works really well, and the whole thing is as catchy as hell. No need for female backing vox - you do it just fine.
