A bluesy song about a blind 17 year old cat called Jerome who is going for a check up at the vets tomorrow. Tanglewood acoustic, Fender Tele, bass and vocals. All done on the MBR.

Not my usual singing voice  :D

BLIND CAT BLUES

Well it's hard to keep your dignity
when you're falling off the chair
and you live your life in perpetual night
with obstructions everywhere

i'm bumping around
just like a blind cat do
i'm bumping around
with those blind cat blues

i can't see the future
i can't see the past
i couldn't even see this ship we're sailing on
if you tied me to the mast

i still recognise you by your touch
and i'm needy for it now
when you live your life in perpetual night
you're no fun to be around

i'm bumping around
just like a blind cat do
i'm bumping around
with those blind cat blues

i can't see the future
i can't see the past
i couldn't even see this ship we're sailing on
if you tied me to the mast

Where to start?

Great to hear the lower vocal been taken out for a spin, on 'the blind cat blues' bits you almost sound like Beefheart! And the driven lead guitar on the left actually sounds like it was played by a cat. Superb. Cool ending too, with the staggered fade and exposed vocal finish. And the piece as a whole still maintains the unmistakable Green flavour...works like a charm.

Funny, I've just back from the vets with my (10 year old) cat.

I'm home today and I've got my good cans on to listen to this. And what a treat, sounds great.

I love your alt bluesy voice.

My cat Zeus has kept me company while listening & I think he dug it too! I really like the guitar interplay & the dirty, gritty vocal.

This is a very original sounding blues Greeny! The thing that stands out to me, besides your cool vox style, is the crystal clarity of all the guitars. Each sits in it's own place in a busy mix but none of them get lost. I like that you could have chosen to let the bass follow the main guitar riff but instead you let it take it's own road, which adds another element of cool to the song. This is the current Greeny favorite of mine...that is until you top it.

Great track love the dirty undertone of the guitar against the crystal clear guitar on top ...the voice works.....Im just back from a couple of days away so hoping to get back into the group....plus Im being given a Fender acoustic this weekend....which is brilliant because it totally fits my found object synchronicity philosophy....just gotta find the Crossroads and well...we all know what happens at the Crossroads
