Adapted from the story of a young soldier unable to adjust after returning home from war. Suffering from PTSD but ashamed to seek help he tries dealing with it on his own. He falls into a deep depression and begins to self medicate, eventually drifting away from his family.

For years the wife leaves no stone unturned trying to get him help and to bring him back into the fold.

Do to the constant chaos during her formative years we find his once precious little daughter, now a confused young woman, emotionally lost and traveling the dark side of the road, in search of something. love? acceptance? peace of mind?

"The Moon (so full of life)"

Verse
Though it may seem, this ain't no dream, he sees his daughter and wife.
They're here to beg and plead, to say they need him in their lives.
Through the raging river of tears he takes his little girl by the hand.
And says, Darlin when you're older I hope you'll understand.

Chorus
I'm searching for something to believe in, I can't find rhyme or reason,
as hard as I may try.
I'm waiting for night fall and the stars to help me recall,
the moon so full of life.

Verse
As he walks into a dark Smokey room; his baby girl catches his eye.
Watching him through the mirror, while grinding up against some guy.
He said your mother misses you dearly; as she leads him out by the hand.
She said daddy unlike mother I thought you'd understand.

Chorus
I'm searching for something to believe in, I can't find rhyme or reason,
as hard as I may try.
I'm waiting for night fall and the stars to help me recall,
the moon so full of life.

Bridge
Always willing to lend a helping hand, when you're able.
Everyone knows no matter how the wind blows, you'll be there.
Now it's your turn to except the warmth of the family's rainbow,
Let them help bring you out of this cloud of despair.

Chorus
I'm searching for something to believe in, I can't find rhyme or reason,
as hard as I may try.
I'm waiting for night fall and the stars to help me recall,
the moon so full of life.

I think if it were possible to get a voice transplant, yours would be the model I would choose, it's just so expressive.  Another great song.  Willie

I can't play this on my Apple Crapple.

I've been waiting for a moment alone to listen and technology has let me down.

Frustrating.

This song and I have been playing hide and seek for a day or so.

It is now the song's turn to hide from me.

*sigh*

Yeah, I'm beginning to be a fan of your work, Nelson. I mean I liked it before, but I've been impressed of late. Your doubled or harmony vox is always great and your story telling is always solid. I really like the melody especially in the chorus. Another good listen and one of my favorite out of a long evening of listening to music that had a lot of good songs in the playlist.

Been looking forward to hearing this. Like Mike, I saw it posted but have had to wait for aural satisfaction! This one (again) ticks all the boxes about why I love your music. Its so real... so soulful. A vocal and melodic delivery of such depth and gravitas. But the lyric here is stunning. There's been a growth on your recent songs in terms of arrangement and harnessing everything together.

Man, you really have packaged it all up now. I'm onto my second listen, and I love this one. And I seriously want to buy your latest album. Make it happen!
