A shortened, abridged version of the Doors classic. Not a faithful copy - just a messy approximation  ::)

Sitar drone in D, with a Les Paul (drop D tuning on both E strings), bass, vocals, and tabla.

So I was casually looking down the list on new posts and - oh my god!  I'm like "There's a Greeny version of The End"!  And then there's sitar drones and tablas.  And in amongst it all there's that trademark Greeny bass.  Just heaven.  Almost makes me happy to be back in work after a bank holiday weekend.

A great version all around but that sitar drone and tabla are the icing on the cake Greeny! I wore this album out when I was young but this particular song had the deepest groves in it. I re-purchased this album new several years ago and it's only been played once when I was recording it to cassette. I can see an image of mist floating above the Viet Cong Delta as in scenes from the Apocalypse movie. Nice one Tim!

Yes, totally digging the sitar drone and the complementary guitar playing - great use of tabla as well. And the bass!

The Greeny treatment works well here - I always appreciate a cover that's not completely faithful to the original. That's a virtue, to my ears. :)
