an Ivor Cutler cover as suggested by nick. my house is very very noisy.

                                                                                truth will out
and James after having made his excuses
was finally forced to tell the truth
Who tore your trousers James in the key of A

Who tore your trousers James
I caught them on a nail
I was bending down
to lift a pail
when  rump!
I tore my trousers

Who tore your trousers James
I caught them on the horn of a bull
walking in the country
when the moon was full
suddenly!
I felt very cool

Who tore your trousers James
I cut them with a knife
courting Mary Jane
I'll not do that again
for along came hairy Jack
and hack
hack
hack
hack
trouble and strife
trouble and strife
I better go back to my wife
who............
tore...........
your..........
trousers....................

I was excited when I saw you'd gone ahead and done this, Jim, and disappointed I was not. Excellent. I love this site.

i had a look on youtube to try find the good sir ivor's original, which he did on a harmonium.

unfortunately i couldn't find it.

my version is very different from the original.

but i listened to ivor's version ad nauseum for about a week to try work out how to do it.

ivor's version is now an earworm in my head and i sporadically sing it out loud, driving friends, relatives, family and workmates mad.

i will try to find a way of linking the original so you can hear how wonderful it is.

I'd like to have a cup of coffee in that kitchen while you're singing this.
