Back in February, my wife and I, and hundreds of thousands of others, lived through the worst ice storm to strike our area (eastern Georgia, western South Carolina) within anyone's living memory.  Here in Aiken, South Carolina we had nine-tenths of an inch of ice.  Virtually 100% of the residents of our county, Aiken County (pop. ~165k), were without electricity for multiple days.  Over in the nearby Augusta, Georgia area conditions were just as bad.  That painful experience inspired this song (demo produced by Frank Michels, sung by Debra Gordon)...

32 Degrees And Rain (Friscic-McIntyre)

I like a gentle rain
as much as anyone,
gettin' caught out alone with you
with hair that's come undone.

And when it's thirty-two degrees
in the cold, white light of dawn,
it feels good to be with you
as the day is coming on, but

[CHORUS:]
Thirty-two degrees and rain
is a special kind of hell.
Thirty-two degrees and rain –
they don't play together well.
To be somewhere dry and warm
I would pay most any price.
I don't think I can make it through
another coating of ice.

Spring can be the best of times.
She loosens winter's grip.
But having dogwoods start to bloom
seems like a cruel trick.

The birds outside were singing
but where did they all go?
They don't need a weatherman
because they all know that

CHORUS

The power's off inside our house
where it's a chilly fifty-two.
They say it may last for up to a week
so we'll just have to make do.

CHORUS

Isn't it wonderful how adversity can sometimes lead you write top songs? Again it sounds like you've got one of the Nashville session bands working on this.  Great stuff.  Roscoe
