Well I guess this is about lots of things . . .

For those not in the UK, Matalan is a cheapy clothes store.

LitB, 1 track, tenor uke (and I sound a bit croaky)

I'm really selling this one!

I was doing one of those stupid facebook quizzes
That said I should live in Monaco
Well I can order chips and wine in French
(they do speak French in Monaco right?)
What would I pack to go to Monaco?

Would it be the gold and silver bikini with the
Matching Louboutin shoes
Let's not forget the grey silk wrap dress
Mmmmmmm
I wonder if they've still got my size in Matalan?

Anyway, it's Friday night and Storage Hunters is on the telly
And me, my husband and my 3 kids are just sitting, watching and eating
And we're eating fishfingers and ovenchips and peas
And everything's alright, you know everything's alright

Coz it's Friday night and everything's alright
You know, everything's alright

Delicious.  Fish fingers, I mean, although I like them in a sandwich with plenty of ketchup.

The song is also delicious.  At once bright and upbeat and crushingly depressing.  If the last line sign off had been "why me???" (which was how I heard it), it would be the latter.

I'm rambling.  Good work.

Oh thanks Nick - I will have a serious think about the ending but it's only depressing if you're unhappy . . .

I was definitely aiming for quirky pathos though . . . food for thought (ha ha see what I did there :D)

Well I've had a think and it's interesting isn't it Nick - I thought the first part was the tragic bit - she's too thick to realise what language they speak in Monaco and all she can think about is her designer labels and what she's going to wear.

The lyrics are going to stay as is, although I might change the chord (I couldn't quite find the chord I was after when I wrote it to finish on - but I've found it now - it's an E - not exactly my go to chord on the uke - still resolved but not quite so cheesy)
