Wrote this yesterday, started by plugging electric uke in through the ps02 (distortion) & using one internal mic for clean fingerpicked uke & vocals (love the 2 track simultaneous recording). I copied the clean uke/vocal tracks and panned the 2 hard right & left. Then started adding (real bass this time), 10 tracks, one bounce all done on the DP-008 (uke effects off the ps02)
2 uke/vocal
1 distorted uke (finger picked)
1 distorted uke (leadish)
1 clean rhythm uke
1 drums (YDD-60 & 35) stereo
1 bass
1 animoog
2 tenor sax (TJ)
Settle In
written & performed by Hook
I can't believe that I won't see you again
I often overlook the finality of mortality

where we go
Is now for
you to know

Now losing you
Makes me see all that I've lost
And how no matter how hard I try
Time slips away

where we go
Is now for
you to know

And I hope
You can settle in

Shit man, this one has the sound and feel of a classic.....right from the get go.......its got something very special going on, the progression, the vocal, the distorted uke slashing away there.......it sounds like a lost rock classic.  Very good song, my good man, very good.............everything is in its perfect place......that sax just comes in where it needs to be, not a thing out of place here........damn man this is surely one of your very best Hook.  Your on a mad roll here.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

Alright hook, it's good to hear you are making use of the available Tascam tracks! This starts out with a bit of Gypsy sound to it but then moves on into a melancholy ballad of sorts. The Ukes sound good as does the TJ sax. A good one!

This is really great work.  The songwriting on the site has really stepped up in the last 12 months.  And it seems like there is much better production - in general - as well as everyone has learned how to use their machines and DAWs etc.  I'm really impressed by this.

BTW -where did you get all those Ukes   :D

Brilliant hook ,absolutely captivating.
The songs music drags you in and your so interested about what's going on you actually miss the lyrical content.
Then you go back and read through it as your listening and realise just how heartfelt a song it is.
I also love the vocal delivery, you have a voice that's easily recognisable from the word go.
A massive thumbs up  ;D
