Recording my electro-acoustic ukulele

I really like the sound of my ukulele with the onboard mics but plugged in directly to record separately (with no extraneous noises) it sucks. Are there any add on COSMs updates for the uke for the BR80 (I can't find any) or can anyone recommend something on the 80 that they use that sounds good with a uke (I have had a fiddle and although some of the electric guitar COSMs sound funky, it's not exactly what I'm after).

Thanks

I'm guessing that your ukulele has a piezo pickup. On their own, these can sound a bit thin and quacky. Fortunately, the BR-80 has an Acoustic Processor effect. The description of this effect from the manual is "This transforms the pickup output of an electro-acoustic guitar into a richer sound, as though it had been recorded using a microphone." The Acoustic Processor effect is available in any patch that uses the A.GUITAR MULTI algorithm (patches 136 through 140). Try those patches and play with the settings which are described on page 10 of the BR-80 Data List document. You may also find it useful to blend the pickup signal with a mic signal, though it might not be convenient to do so.

I already tried those, they suck too.

There are Members here who will confirm that professional recording studios spend £00000000s on getting acoustic-treatment right. If you're getting a decent sound using the onboard mics, stick with it. You WILL end-up headbutting walls trying to get a decent sound from a plugged-in electro. But good luck anyway.  8)

I know what you mean Steve, but it's like saying if you can Walz don't bother to Rumba. I would stick with the onboard mics but I get a lot of creaking when I play the uke  ::) and I wanted a cleaner recording. It fills me with horror the thought of mic'ing up the uke as it's taken me 2 years to learn to record my vocals properly.

Anyway, I'm making progress with the Acoustic Simulator COSMs, they are much better than the Acoustic ones.
