Their 1981 classic. Mostly done in Garageband, but with a bit of original 80's Yamaha PSS-50 keyboard to try and inject an analogue flavour.

It's not really like the original at all. It's more like I'm throwing all my 80's memories and influences into one basket.

And it really makes you miss the sound of analogue synths.

Hook

Really nice cover here of one if my favorites from them. Fabulous job incorporating the Casio, great vocal, I really enjoyed this one.

Great version Tim.

I used to have a PSS780 which I miss greatly now.  One of my saved searches on eBay.

Well done...!  Definitely caught the spirit of things.  Great singing and the arrangement is spot on!

I had the jukebox going and had no idea it was you at first. I dont know Depeche Mode songs too much but
this sounds really cool.
Ive seen that Yamaha before. It sounds pretty good but the vocals really do it for me on this tune.

Excellent production!

Oh hell yeah!

Clearly what it is but with a great Green twist, great stuff Tim, how much is programmed and how much played live?

And your voice is fab - enjoying not being ripped apart by the fags? (Fags for our American Friends are Cigarettes)

Apart from the drag and drop drums, everything is me poking individual notes. One layer has a 2 octave sequencer going on it.

And yes - all the months of non smoking is really helping the vocals!

I did make it darker. That's the difference between teenage Basildon boys and a grizzled old git remembering his synth days ;-)
