LMMS 1.0.0 has just been released. As I write this, the LMMS site has not yet been updated to show the new version but you can download it here:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/lmms/files/lmms/1.0.0/

It will probably be on the LMMS website soon too.

http://lmms.sourceforge.net/

Documentation, tutorials, etc. can be found on the Wiki site:

http://lmms.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

LMMS has been around for a long time but the version numbers have always been 0.something.The last version was 0.4.15 which was released June 12, 2013. So this is considered a major release.

LMMS is a full-featured music creation application which is similar to the popular commercial software known as FL Studio (formerly known as FruityLoops). Unlike FL Studio/FruityLoops, LMMS is free and available for Windows and Linux.

Here's a link to a YouTube playlist containing a bunch of LMMS tutorial videos. They're based on an older version of LMMS but the information should still be applicable to LMMS 1.0.0.
