I'm not sure where to put this one, so if it's in the wrong place just move it that's fine.

The backing is me playing the piano and singing Lost Inside of You (it's deliberately quiet at the start) the rest is tonight's musings.

:D

I'm really depressed now! This is superbly done though. Great idea and very poignant storytelling. I know what you mean - this sits between 'original' and 'cover', but I think it's more of an original.

At least songcrafters has got you away from that kitchen sink.
Some sad reflections in this piece but I'm sure apart from wanting to be Barbara s your life has been filled with many precious moments you wouldn't change for the world .
Coincidently while we are on the subject  of the great artist.
According to the RIAA, Streisand holds the record for the most top ten albums of any female recording artist – a total of 32 since 1963.
But I'm pretty sure she doesn't Doesn't do her own dishes.
Get a dishwasher Hilary and get the Br out  ;D
Nice performance, kinda like a little piece of artistic poetry. ;D

Thanks for your comments but it's not autobiographical (why do I always have to say this grrr!!!!!!!!)

Yes, one of my favourite films as a teen was A Star is Born and yes I know all the words to all the songs but I'm just telling a story. Actually, if I'm singing in the kitchen my daughter complains that the her bedroom floor vibrates.

I'm a comedian yes, but I'm a bloody good actor too!

Oops sorry Hilary just thought it was autobiographical  ;D anyway regardless it's a good wee story.
And you must be a good actor because you fooled me into  believing it was about you(I'm sure that I wasn't the only one)

I found your original comments very patronising Kenny, but appreciate the apology - thanks

I like it, I think it's really good and was considering performing it at some point (obviously not on at a comedy gig!), but I've kind of gone off the idea for now.

An old school friend on mine ended up as reception manager at the MGM Grand hotel in Vegas. They had Streisand there for a residency once, and the first thing she did was make them change all the curtains in her suite. She's a very awkward customer, apparently. I have mixed feelings about her. I can't stand Yentl, but I like quite a few of her songs. She's great in Meet the Fockers too. And the song 'Evergreen' makes me cry (for no reason), so I can't listen to that. An amazing singer though. Don't rain on my parade!

The storytelling over a piano backing is very effective. You should explore this more. More bittersweet than comedy, but might be a nice contrast to throw into an act from time to time.
