Wow - can't believe that I missed this. This is soooo '70's that it hurts :) Brilliant, you captured the feeling and sound all those brilliant prog band in a single track, and brought me back to my youth listening to Yes, Genesis & Floyd. Fabulous performance all round, brightened up my sunday morning :) Love it.

Been away for a while and owe this one a comment. Just haven't had the time to give it a thorough listen which is definitely what it deserves. I think this is quite unique, there's defeinitely proggy elements and there's a strong psychedelic feel at times (get a bit of Flaming Lips), but it rocks along at a great pace throughout and keeps you hooked throughout. You definitely got the "rock" into prog rock. That rising chord sequence is the killer hook, it is really memorable but isn't obvious at all, and the way it goes into the "transcendence" part is superb, that really works well.

The instrumental section from 1:56 on is excellent, great dynamics and some nice restrained playing all round that builds a great multi-instrument soundscape. The keys and guitar go really well together. The ending from 3:58 on is great, love the way it transitions to a quieter keyboard led fade out. Overall the keys are great, there's a lot of really good work throughout here. And the drums are really well done, just so much to like. Good production as well, everything is well balanced into a good stereo image. Nice full sound to the whole song with nothing dominating even though there's so much going on. That's hard to achieve with a lot of multitracking.

Brilliant stuff Dave, definitely one of your best, really enjoyed this. Apols it's taken me so long to post about it.

Rather tasty indeed.
I agree, you've out done yourself here.

I'm dig'n your vocals and the arrangement.

The story behind the tune is most fascinating - I love to hear the process of really cool musicians.
Excellent work on the keys, BTW.

Hats off 2 U

Nice to see this back at the top of Page 1.....had this come on in the car in town the other day, turned it up and wound down the windows (it's a Essex thing! :D) and just wanted everyone else around me to hear a real amazing song.....what a tune!!

Missed this one!

It seems to be a more "experimental" song than the rest of your compositions

Very interesting song, love the strange chord changes part, a jazz-rock-fusion thing

Great job!

I've always loved this one from you. Glad to see it bumped. Wonder songwriting, guitarwork, basslines... everything's just perfect. Oh, and that outro man, phenomenal stuff. Better than the movie :)
