I recently installed a stream capturing device, i do not know if this has anything to do with it.
now I have a slight delay with a slight but of reverb I cannot seem to stop via the mixer or audio settings.
now while the mixer is on, if I unplug the usb connection the guitar still plays but no delay-reverb, once I plug it back in then there it is again. how it can still plat without the usb from the mixer connected is beyond me.
I used to know how to fix this but it has been so long I forgot and couldn't find the exact topic covered here before, if it is the same problem.

Sounds like you've got the mixer's Direct Monitoring enabled. That would explain why you can still hear the guitar from the mixer's output when the USB cable isn't connected to the computer. It would also explain why you're hearing a slight delay when the USB cable is connected. You're hearing the direct signal from the mixer, followed by the slightly later signal from the computer. You should only monitor from one source - either from the computer (mixer's direct monitoring turned off) or from the mixer (direct monitoring turned on with the computer's return signal turned off).

problem with that is my behringer mixer doesn't have a monitor button. it only has
cd/tape
main mix
cd/tape to main

so I guess it is in my audio setting in my pc. where would I find, and put direct monitoring off, on windows 8.1 audio settings. been looking online but do not seem to find it.

What's the model number of your Behringer mixer?

xenyx 1204 fx.

my Yamaha mixer has a monitor button, and it allowed me to switch back and forth with it to do my music recordings, and press it and be able to capture live streaming, this one does not do that.

in the recording tab in my audio panel for win 8.1 I turned off - listen to this device. that seemed to have done it.
