This is a fav of mine... Recorded with my Simon & Patrick Luthier, dual ribbon mic and Yamaha PSR550 keyboard.  I actually used all the tracks on the HD-8 which I don't normally do.  Hope it's enjoyed! Cheers!

Very much enjoyed!

Great performance. You get a crisp, clean sound from your setup - guitar and vocals sound clear as a bell. I don't know the original, but your version's the bee's knees.

Wow! This is excellent! I didn't know the original by The Pogues but I checked it out on YouTube. It was great but it's your version that I keep coming back to. I must have listened to it 20 to 30 times so far. What a great song and a great performance.

I saw the Pogues regularly in the Kennington pub at the Oval, London in the early 80's when Sean McGowan was permenantly pissed but still had the capacity  for speech. It was clear that they were set for stardom even then - drink, some peoples saviour, some's destructor. Their gigs had an energy, a life, you could see that they got it, they were in the same place and loving it. Latterly the band are still tight, still a collection of musicians with a common cause, but last time I saw Shane he was rambling, incoherent, a shadow of his former self. Sad.

This however takes me back to the days when I was a young man, when music was dangerous, was loaded with dissent, wild and exciting. You've captured those days and brought them to the present.

Fantastic cover. You should be doing this stuff live. Every day.

Excellent job on this great song. Love your production on this...a real treat of a listen. Happy Saint Pat's!

Thanks to everyone for the encouraging comments! This recording started out a bit rough and I was going to leave it and move on but decided to stick it out and add more tracks.  Turned out to be very happy with it.  Thanks again!!
