Following in the tradition all my own , here's my late submission for TraditionalFest...  :D

John Riley is a traditional English folk ballad traced back to around the 17th century, about a fair young maid waiting for her betrothed to return from over the sea, while trying to keep the wolves at bay.

I first heard this song on the Rainy Day compilation by various artists from LA's Paisley Underground back in the 80s, and later, the cover by The Byrds. I guess I drew inspiration from both sources...

Done mostly on acoustic instruments, this recording marks the debut of my box tanpura that I got a while ago, which is a modern (and smaller, and much cheaper) version of the classical Indian tanpura. Played non-classically by me, of course.  ;D

I don`t know the song but this is incredible good. The instruments stop me in my tracks. This is a serious
production. Your vocals are so good and original to me.

Always love hearing your stuff Cuth. Gonna download this gem for piepod.  :)
