Another festival submission. If you don't know the original, forget this version and check the original in youtube!!! It is far better than this version!

A few months ago I got a promotion of amplitube for ipad. I bought not only the basic amplitube but also the studio and the drum machine.

Since I got the ipad, I have been trying to get a workflow similar to the BossBRs. What I like most on the BRs is that you select a pattern in seconds, you play your parts, and then you can go back to the drums to arrange them. And they are pretty well organized (Intro, A, B, Fill A, Fill B, End).

Well, the amplitube drum machine is very very similar to the BRs, and it was really quick to make this track, which followed a very similar workflow from the BRs.

However, I am not sure if I'll use the studio, or even amplitube again. Here's a resume of pros and cons:

Pros:
Well organized drum machine
You record dry and you can mess with the pedals later while mixing (this is excellent)
The studio is very easy to work with and accomplishes as expected
Quick to star recording music - all in one package!
Audiobus compatible! I can use the drum machine in any other daw!

Negative:
I am not sure if amplitube has the best amps and effects. I suspect Ampkit sounds are better. I had a lot of problems with the volume, and clipping while recording the guitars and bass. Probably my fault, but not very user friendly.
I think there is a bug - it not always associates the correct pedal set with the selected track - but I leave that open because I am not entirely sure. I would record the track and then, while mixing, sometimes the pedals weren't reacting t all.
The splendid drum machine doesn't have a pattern with... silence! This song has a measure with no drums. I had to put an ending followed by an intro. It sounds acceptable, I guess, but not perfect.
The final result is a bit muddy, but I admit it may be some lack of talent for mastering. There are 2 send channels with effects (reverb or chorus or delay), a compressor and a parametric EQ in the master bus. I really needed some presets for the mastering, since I find parametric EQ close to paranormal.
Final mix sent by email in m4a!!! Horrible! For that I rather use garageband. Not easy to get individual tracks and mix them on the computer.

Hope this was useful.

Nevermind the bollocks, here's dasilvasings...

I'm not familiar with the original, so I listened to it at first...(Watched AmpliTube vid via YouTube as well). It looks interesting, but I don't own iPhone or iPad...

Nice performing on each instrument and your vocal is stunning here!! As you said "the final result is a bit muddy". If this was your first attempt on new gear, it is understandable. I have been struggled with my mixes and mastering on MBR and BR-80, and it still continues ;) . Anyway, loved the feel and interpretation of your version! Well done!

Thanks for the comments.

I think you are being too generous. Yes, there is some energy, and it was my first try with amplitube, but as soon as I find some time, I'll try to bounce the tracks individually, export to the computer, convert from m4a to mp3 or wav, and remix them in a proper daw... And probably rerecord the vocals, like Flash, inside Renault Modus Studio, very very far away from civilization.
