Mr Harry,
You had me hooked in the first bar. You've captured the sound of the 80's perfectly :)
Just goes to show that you don't need layers of sound to make a song sound full.
Brilliant. Love it.

Great cover of a song I remember well - we used to play it in my first band in 1979/80.  Speaking of mojo, mine seems to have upped and left.  Hope it comes back now spring is approaching!

It was, though I was sitting down rather than jumping around like Andy McClusky.

Ahhhh yes ,this song brings back so many memories.
Thanks flash for transporting me back in time.
Isn't it funny that a song can do that,I listened to that keyboard run an instantly thought about a nightclub I went to after a gig in Aberdeen and the disco consisted of  a large screen with this song playing on it followed by various simple minds songs then heaven 17's penthouse tracks.
We had just spent half the day getting to the gig only to be told we had been double booked so we tossed a coin with the other band and lost.
But the deal was who ever lost got paid regardless and free drink so what's a band to do :)
We watched the band do their set(they played it in white boiler suits and red plastic belts) and then headed to the local disco and I remember the echo of thus riff playing as we walked in.
You've done a great job there, you caught the vibe well.
Nice one

That's a really nice version, Flash.  I love this song and you've done it beautifully. Made my afternoon, it has.  Did you see that synth Britannia show on BBC4 a month or two ago?  That was really nostolgiac for me.

We must have nearly crossed paths.  I was a Salford University student starting 1983.  I did get to the Hacienda a few times.  I saw Thomas Dolby there and the Smiths and others.

Yes, it's been on a couple of times and it's on youtube too...

Yeah, '79 was a bit early for the madchester thing, later would have been better. Did Salford still have those crazy lifts when you were there?

I used to go to the carousel in Salford. It was all northern soul and rude boys. Crap beer, girls with teeth missing and a nasty itch if you scored.
