The old Dublin traditional song about Molly Malone
-she wheeled her wheelbarrow through streets broad and narrow in the 1690's -crying
"cockles and mussels Alive -Alive-O
She has become known by the local Dublin wits as "The Tart with the cart" ;D ;D ;D ;D

I have two cans of Guinness in the fridge, I will be raising a glass later to Tommy and his fab tunes. This makes we want to drink, dance and party. Love it :) Great recording, guitar sounds, vocals and clicking-of-fingers  ;D

Great rockin' cover of this lovely old song. I always liked the last verse in particular. The idea of her ghost pushing a wheelbarrow through the streets of Dublin is an interesting twist to the lyrics.

The dress on that statue is very low-cut for the 17th century. I can see why she's known as the tart with the cart. I would have thought that a woman of that era would have been covered from neck to ankle. I guess the sculptor wasn't trying to be historically accurate. :)
