I have not been nervous before a gig in quite a while. John and I have been playing live a couple times a month for the last year and a half (and in previous posts, I have thanked the Songcrafters community and will do so again for its consistent optimism and support).  But tonight, we are going to try "And You and I: The Cord of Life" by Yes into "Dear Prudence" into the rest of a God-knows-where medley. We are also going to do "Feel Like Making Love" in honor of Valentine's Day.  The Bad Company  tune is a bit of a joke, but the Yes tune is not.  I am a bit anxious to see if the crowd is on board with both/either. Couple this with the subtext that John and I are perhaps the most under-rehearsed band in our hometown...

John says he may have to approach Jon Anderson vocals tonight an octave lower. Question: should I nonchalantly give him a poke to the ghoulies to facilitate hitting the high notes?

I probably shouldn't have started drinking this early.

I must sally forth now...once more into the breach.

That made me laugh.

I'm not sure how the Yes tune came off. John made a self-deprecating remark as it ended, so who knows?  It was fun while it lasted, but I don't see it being in the regular rotation. I certainly don't see "Feel Like Making Love" being played regularly either. We made a smarmy homage to Valentine's Day and then broke it out.

Sorry about the initial, slightly inebriated post. I was about to leave the house, and I poured a rather large rum. I sat down to arrange my sheet music in a couple of set binders when it all hit me. Probably not a good idea, but it worked out okay. Here was the setlist:
