wow I just love those synths and drums!

I think we should have a sticky valentine's day... err... I mean, like we have this sticky Christmas Festival, we should have a sticky Valentine's festival for love songs.
And we would look nice for our wifes and girlfriends...
And that's important because we buy gear... And they always find out... and then...
oh no! punishment and pain! the wound, the wound!!!!

Thank you guys, Tim's vocal makes this track, it's quite empty without his voice, although I was imagining him singing it as I was recording it, it was not until I heard him singing it that this track came alive. He's done a cracking job.

The drums are done on Hydrogen - there's a freely available beta that runs on Windows and is generally stable, you can use the samples in the program to generate the audio track or you can export the midi and use it to drive your favourite drum machine.

I have used the Roland SH-201 for all the synth tracks, each one had to be tweaked and recorded separately, I have used a delay during the mix to create the opening arpeggios, the on-board delay will not let you pan the delayed signal, the electronic cymbal sounds are the SH-201 too.

I find the Roland easier to use for things like this, it's more accessible than the R3 although not as flexible in some ways.

Fantastic! I've always liked this song and have often thought of doing my own cover of it. But I'm sure I couldn't do it as good as this.

Nice to see that you're using Hydrogen. It's a pretty cool program. Did you use one of Hydrogen's drum kits or did you export to MIDI and use your electronic drum kit module to generate the sounds?

I don`t know this song but that is really great synth playing Mike. I almost bought one today and now i feel like going back. You inspired me to go broke!! The Hydrogen drums are pretty awesome sounding.
Good to hear Tim again. This place is not the same without his voice.

I won`t even bother to go hear the original now.
