I just discovered the singer songwriter Elliott Smith. Ten years after his death  :o  :-\
I think he's truly a great songwriter, he sings superb ballads.

What are your favorites songs?
Did you covered once one his songs?

I am amazed by his beautyfull music

I'm vaguely familiar with Elliott Smith's music because my son followed him. My son (Neil) is also a musician in the band Built Like Alaska which ran in similar musical circles when he was in Southern California. They played a gig together once when Elliott was doing his solo shows. The few songs that I heard of his seemed to have a Beatles influence to them...which I thought was good. My son believes Elliott's death was not self inflicted but instead a homicide. Too young to die at the age of 34.........

Yes, his death at 34 is terrible and not clear... suicide? homicide? The police seems to do new investigations
Yes, the influence of the Beatles is  sure
Your son had a great chance to play with him I think, a great songwriter
I will play (soon I hope) a cover of Eliott Smith

Thanks Farell for your answer to my question!
