Another one going in a different direction! Really good start, there's some nice melodic work going on here which has a lovely feel to it. I could have done with more...

A fitting tribute, we just had to have our cat put down so this bought a tear to my eye. Animals can be such good friends.

Quote from: cuthbert on February 10, 2014, 07:21:53 PMCan you read/write music, Dave? It sounds very accomplished to my ear.
The last time I had anything to do with written music like this was High School, so I have forgotten most of what i knew.  I basically went by ear, laid down some notes on the score, listened, tweeked, added some more, listened.....etc....5 or so hours later had this little peice.  I just thought about that little pug running through the field with his buddy (my Lab) and used my ears.  It is a good way to learn about writing music, I learned a whole pile from this.

It is always good when something positive comes from a bad thing, and you did it! Well done!

Lovely piece BB, enjoyed this loads even though its inspired by a sad event. It has the feel of Aaron Copland/Appalachian Springs, a great american classical composer. You have that same feel of big open space in your piece.

Excellent composition BB. That seems like a really great app. Almost makes me wish I had an iPad.

I was reading a bit about Notion on their website. I'm not sure if it's already been mentioned here but the included orchestral sample library was recorded in Abbey Road Studios by the London Symphony Orchestra! No wonder it sounds so good.

There's also a version of NOTION for Mac OS X and Windows for $100. I'm not sure how it compares to the iPad version.

Bluesberry,
Listened to this a few times and it made me think of my best friends who've passed away.. RIP Buddy, Tasha, George and The Don(Donny).  There is a note that repeats that makes me think of a dog's tail wagging too.  Weird but true.  Anyway, great job on this piece and thanks for posting it.
