Been in contact with an old friend recently.
We've known each other since secondary school & used to be together in band called Sea Cadets in the 80's (yes I am that old).
He's got an iPhone, I've got an iPad. We've both got Garageband.
This is a re-recording one of our songs from that far distant time.

This is the result:
[soundclick]12670676[/soundclick]

Drums, Bass, Keyboards are Garageband instruments. Guitars are mine (Zoom G3, recorded on a Boss BR600, then imported into Garageband). Vocals are Gary on his iPhone (not the best quality, but it gets there), recorded into Garageband & then Dropbox'd to me to import.
Final production also done in Garageband, exported, then normalised in Audacity, before saving to mp3.

Wow! this is rather fab - the vox is fine as is all the rest of the recording and production -and what a fantastic track. It sounds very contemporary. Love the guitars, that delay is spot on, the jangly one in my right ear is placed just right.

Super quality. everything is just fab - I've said it twice now. Yes, Fab

On my second listen, just to make sure I didn't miss anything.

PiePod bound.
We are here on Earth to fart around. Don't let anybody tell you any different

Excellent, what a great way to collab. It does have an 80s feel to it, especially the guitars (a hint of Edge going on there?) which was probably why I enjoyed it so much. You fitted all the parts together well and it's a complex, shimmering track. Really liked it!

Oh yeah !! This IS excellent !

Sparkling production. Love how the echoed guitar sprinkles cool raindrops of sound on the soundscape. And the vocals are just perfect for the song !!

Well done guys!

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

alfstone

Great sound indeed!

P.S. LOL, it's exactly the SAME story here with me and Robtob and the P.O.S.C. songs...sending parts of the songs via Dropbox, using Garageband...all the same, in Italian version and our friendship going back to the Seventies...  :D
