thankfully i don't have to commute to my work, i walk. but back in the day...................
Every morning
on the clockwork orange
we're all sleepwalking
to destiny
and no ones talking
tho the odd good morning
is said by someone
perhaps by me
i'm heading up the stairs
back out to the fresh air
to all the different sounds
from the underground
I hear the traffic roar
out on dumbarton road
got off at kelvin hall
claustrophobia
only another two miles to walk
or maybe  I could get the bus

it's always raining
when we head hame hen
we're always queueing
to get on and off
it's so depressing
we're all compressed in
such small compartments
you can hardly breathe
it feels like tokyo
although I know we're no
we just went through ibrox
nearly my stop
and the noise is deafening
I can hardly hear myself think
got off at georges cross
claustrophobia
oh it's much too far to walk
I hope I have enough
for a taxi home

I commuted from Brighton to London for many years, I feel the pain of this song.... Lovely work Jim. As Jean-Sebastien says, lovely melancholy feel, nice atmospheric chords and a lovely vocal.

God knows I did my share of commuting, Tunbridge Wells-Canterbury, T/Wells-Bromley, T/wells-Aldershot, T/wells-Brighton, and others I've trained my mind to forget.  This song puts it all in a musical nutshell, well done.  Roscoe
