a simple tune, however it took about twenty takes to record. my fat stubby fingers rubbed strings, and the string tension on my £10 acoustic have made my fingertips so hard, i could hammer in nails with them now. this is the best i can do with it for now, but i might try it on my other acoustic when i get back home tomorrow.

the first line of this song "you can't shine, if you don't burn" is attributed to the late Kevin Ayres
QuoteA note, which isn't thought to be connected to Ayers's death, was found by his bed which said, "You can't shine if you don't burn."

when i heard about that note, i thought it to good to waste, pity about my words that follow it tho.

anyway it's dedicated to Kevin Ayers and also to Tony Jones over at the cool lab, who my thoughts are with,

you can't shine, if you don't burn
why walk away, when you can run
you can't jump, til you've learnt to crawl
through it all through it all
you can't hold, what you don't have
don't know whether, you should cry or laugh
count the days, bear the nights
through it all through it all through it all
you take your share, no more no less
you hold the fort, you take the weight
you just do, no complaints
through it all through it all through it all
through it all

Nice tune man!  I like this song.  I like the delay on the voice and the whistle solo fits perfect.
