I like the lyric quite a bit. I can really feel that chorus, that repeated lyric. It fits the somber, grey feel of the weather here, although the sun is coming out and betraying my mood a bit, I guess. But I like the phrasing and how you've made me feel exactly what you are saying.

re: blending guitar tracks. I've found it is better to record pretty dry (without effects) and use a mic'd track as the main track and then blend in the line in track. just to give it some definition and clarity. I also EQ the mic'd track cutting the very lows and checking the rest of the ranges. I also usually scoop out a fairly narrow range of EQ around 2-3Kh (just to make room for the vocals.) I find the line in is usually a bit harsh and "clinical" sounding for lack of a better word. But I also find the mic'd track is sometimes a bit too dull or lacking in precision. So I combine the two quite a bit. But I mix in Reaper and only record on the BR.  You might try combining both tracks into one and then duplicating the combined track and panning them with different effects (or levels) to the left and to the right for a different feel/sound.  I noticed you seem to like the spacial effects on the guitar quite a bit which gives a nice depth to your songs/lyrics. Sometimes adding a bit of delay or even a chorus to one side and a bit less or opposite effect to the other can give you a similar effect without having to use as much of any single effect at one time. Does that make sense? Ah, heck, I'm just muddling through as best I can.
