re:.........for that guitar. Funny you liked the solo, I had so much problems recording and was not pleased with my playing. A little rig ru.......

I think what everyone else hear's is always better than what we hear......explains a lot.  Also explains a lot about the renovations I do around my house....LOL.  We know too much of the details of our own work I think.

Outstanding, this one has a real good feel.  Makes me think of Neil Young for some reason.  Great song.

My problem with my guitar playing has to do with the problems I had recording – radio noise in the tubes, too high or to low gain, no signal... So when I finally got everything to work I couldn't stop thinking and just play like I wanted to.

Recording with an amp is the way to do it for me. I know alot of people get good, and probably better result, recording direct, but I need that response you get from filling up the room with sound. But it is such a hassle, so I wish I could get more modern..

Eventually I will try to record it with a real band – maybe live and everything a once, or drums bass and add the rest after.

References to both Young and Cave – if you only knew what that meant to me. I have a few songs that I have been working on, and all your feedback helps me get them out of my head and recorder. Thanks.

Hi Henrik, I think the guys have just about covered everything but I will say that I enjoyed this a lot.  Roscoe

I remember you from the old days Henrik, and I liked hearing this. It sounded like it would make a good soundtrack to a David Lynch movie, I liked the eerie western guitar and the intense feeling. The lead parts work well, overall I enjoyed this a lot.

Cheers,

Actually, when I started with the guitar part, it had more a Bill Frisell feel to it (minus his elegance). But I couldn't get the arrangement right, especially not the drums.
I tried it with some strange loop from ikaossilator and messed around with that: pretty clean tremolo guitar with electronic and drums. I still like that path, but I think I need to learn how to do it on my computer to do it right.
Then when I played with some of the guys from my old band I tried it without singing. First I played it clean and it sounded like shit. They just slaughtered it. So I cranked up the guitar to get in command and tried to get us in to a "crazy horse"-mode. And then when they played simple enough I dialed down on the guitar and then I started to realize how I wanted it all.
I then did this recording pretty quick. The next step is to go back and record it with a band. But I am not sure who I want to do it with..

This process probably explains my low output. I wish I could do it faster. Maybe it would be worth it to learn how to do it on the computer. My son, Mattias (sq51 here) started with Logic but now he uses Reason and it is impressive what he can do.
