Soundcloud player?

How can I link to my songs on Soundcloud now they've removed the Wordpress sharing option?

My phone forces me to use it; by choice I'd use Alonetone.

Click Share. Then click Embed. Copy just the song ID number from the WordPress Code and insert it between the Soundcloud tags in your message.

SoundCloud has changed things slightly since I posted the instructions above. You now have to scroll to the bottom of the Embed dialog window and click "More options" to see the WordPress code.

Updated instructions are in the guide:

SoundCloud has changed things again. Here's the new procedure:

It should look something like this:

<iframe width="100%" height="166" scrolling="no" frameborder="no" allow="autoplay" src="https://w.soundcloud.com/player/?url=https%3A//api.soundcloud.com/tracks/899950573&color=%23ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true"></iframe><div style="font-size: 10px; color: #cccccc;line-break: anywhere;word-break: normal;overflow: hidden;white-space: nowrap;text-overflow: ellipsis; font-family: Interstate,Lucida Grande,Lucida Sans Unicode,Lucida Sans,Garuda,Verdana,Tahoma,sans-serif;font-weight: 100;"><a href="https://soundcloud.com/user-687302188" title="AB" target="_blank" style="color: #cccccc; text-decoration: none;">AB</a> ยท <a href="https://soundcloud.com/user-687302188/my-pony" title="My Pony" target="_blank" style="color: #cccccc; text-decoration: none;">My Pony</a></div>

Find the part that says "src="https://w.soundcloud.com/player/?url=https%3A//api.soundcloud.com/tracks/899950573" then copy just the number after "/tracks/" and paste it between the [soundcloud][/soundcloud] tags in your message. In this example, it would look like this:

[soundcloud]899950573[/soundcloud]

Be aware that songs posted with external players such as SoundCloud will not appear in the Songcrafters jukeboxes because there is no direct link available to the mp3 file. For that reason, you're better off using a site like alonetone which allows you to link directly to the mp3 file using our [singlemp3][/singlemp3] tags, or attaching your mp3 file to your message. Only attached mp3 files and external mp3 files linked directly with the [singlemp3][/singlemp3] tags will be automatically included in your personal jukebox, the Latest Songs jukebox, etc.

Also, the above procedure for the SoundCloud player works today but it could change at any time and stop working. And there may come a time when we can no longer make it work at all.

Boognish

Thanks
I was just trying to figure all that out, but I finally went ahead and just uploaded an mp3 the old fashioned way!

Okay to cover.
