Saw The Cult this weekend

I went to see The Cult this weekend in Indianapolis.  They rocked from beginning to end.  The crowd was great.  Felt like a time warp with leather jackets, heavy metal t-shirts and wonky haircuts.

I have loved this band for a long time.  As singer Ian Astbury puts it "We don't have fans, we have addicts".

Saw them on an early tour in 84 IIRC. Preferred them as Southern Death Cult myself but they have produced some cracking tracks as the Cult. Duffy and Astbury are only a few years younger than me, glad to see they are still rocking.

Although Astbury does appear to have a dead animal on his shoulder.

And he wore that the whole night.  I kept waiting for the moment to take off the jacket... it never came!

I saw them about that time as well when they were Death Cult, in Bristol St Paul's. Great band live. This was about the time of Horse Nation.  And then a few years later (~86) as the Cult in Cardiff, all before they morphed into stadium rocking behemoths.

Great they're still going and I'm glad you had a good time, Trevor.

They played Horse Nation.  Going into it, I was calling it "Hoarse" Nation because I was expecting his voice to be weak  based on some youtube videos... but he sounded great.  Not doing all the vocal stunts he has done but rocking nonetheless...

This was a pretty intimate gig.  Their behemoth days are behind them now.

Sonic Temple just might be my favourite album of all time.

Great band. Suprised to see a Vox behind Duffy.  Figured that would be Marshall all the way.

Glad to hear they are still 'given 'er though.
It ain't pretty being easy.
