Here's my first ukulele cover with my new tenor uke, live with a fleckle of harmony. There's a lot of breath sounds on this as I'm thick with a cold  :-\

It's an old WWII song but I think has a universal message of hope for better times to come . . .

Very nice Hilary! Cold or not, the uke and your voice sound good together. I do remember hearing this song....long ago and it's still a great one to cover.

Just been watching -- The First of Few , a 1942 film by Leslie Howard , your song fitted well with my  evening of WW11 screening , a lovely rendition of a magical song , well done

It's a special song to me - my mum spent the first part of the war in air-raid shelters, then was bombed out and lost pretty much everything and then evacuated. There's a line in the song "my baby will go to sleep in her own little room again" . . .

I wanted it to be like a lullaby but don't think I quite pulled it off - maybe I'll have another go when I've got over my cold.
