I think its a polished piece of music from two very talented musicians.

I love the guitars, the percussion, the backing vox and the lead voice and lyrics are superb.

It's a really really good track.

It's on my PiePod

Really enjoyed this I thought the mixing was great...I thought the guitar paning in the mix really made this special 8)

Greeny

It's SUPERB. There's echoes of Crosby Stills and Nash, America, and the Byrds in here. You have to be proud of this one, fellas.

And we could all learn a thing or two from Hooper's production touches...

Ferryman_1957

Very nice, kind of laid back so the repetitive feel works. Very CSN&Y as Greeny said. Love the harmonies on the chorus and the guitar at the end. Nice production job as well.

I agree.  How was the harmony part done, I am very interested in this part, I would love to hear how this part was done (or is this a carefully guarded secret between you two musical wizards).  Great job gentlemen.

The backing vocals are 3-part harmony with each part double-tracked.  So, they took 6 tracks to make and I tracked them in Sonar. The signal chain was a homemade cigar case electrecet mic into my M-BR using a User effect derived from the ForNylon preset. Then routed output from the M-Br into my PC soundcard.  The 3 parts are panned out in the mix with reverb added to set them back in the mix.  Sure, it could all be done using only the M-Br...would just mean more work for a lazy man. ~smile~
When I start figuring out the notes for multi-part harmonies I look down at my fingers on the guitar or piano forming the cords, looking for the individual notes that make up the chord.  That always gives a clue about where to start singing.

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.
