Woohoo!! Those are really great deals, if you can swing it. Now I'm thinking about getting another Micro BR, just in case...  ::)

Regarding my own purchase from Best Buy, I was a bit concerned that the box wasn't sealed with heat shrunk plastic (and it was also a bit dusty), but everything inside looked new and unused (although the BR-800 didn't have any plastic decals on it or anything, it was just wrapped inside a plastic bag...do any BR-800 owners out there recall if there was any plastic protection strips on the unit itself?).

Everything seems fine as far as I can tell, and mine came loaded with the 1.0.4 firmware. I was able to update it to 1.10 without issue.

I haven't done any recordings with my BR-800 yet, but so far I'm very impressed with the build quality. Looking forward to using it!

No, I don't think so. I don't think it even was sealed with heat shrunk plastic .....

mind you .. I was in my 40s when I bought it so I might be wrong ;D

Oh well ........

No heat shrunk plastic. The box was just sealed with sticky tape. As far as I remember, it was just in a plastic bag inside the box which had the usual folded card separators. No plastic protection strips either but the SD card was in a little bag and the psu was in a little box. (I think)

I'm really pleased with mine and am gradually learning its capabilities.
