Well I'm on my 2nd listen - coming at it from the other end (as a mother of 3, one of my daughter's is at Uni and the other daughter will be gone next year) I found the song extremely moving.

I loved the song too, but I'm not entirely convinced about the falsetto mum voice - I only mention it because it is/you are so good.

It's always a pleasure to listen to your songs Luke.

Haha, well I never intended to try and sound like a mother, but that's an interesting perception. Thank you very much.

It certainly can be interpreted that way. I just sang it that way to get across the sort of sad but true, almost whining tone of voice that I have when I'm realizing there's no way out of change. But it can be interpreted multiple ways.
